Leslie V. Simmons

Leslie V. Simmons is a multidisciplinary artist based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She works primarily in acrylic painting, with a background in drawing and a love of experimenting with printmaking and other mediums. She is especially drawn to landscapes and the natural world, and the way certain places can become tied to personal memories and experiences.

Her work ranges from detailed and intimate paintings to more expressive and abstract pieces. Through acrylic, drawing, and printmaking, she explores color, texture, shape, and the ways memory can change how we see and remember a place.

Leslie earned her BFA in Graphic Design from Watkins College of Art, Design & Film in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2019. Her design background continues to influence her approach to color and composition, while her studio practice has grown through an ongoing exploration of painting, drawing, printmaking, and other creative mediums.

Leslie hopes viewers can find their own connection to her pieces, because she believes art means more when you have a personal connection to it.
